In-service teacher training could be the best reflection of life-long learning concept in Finland. Teachers have the will to learn in order to meet the continunously developing demands. The country and municipalities are also providing all kinds of possibilities for teachers to learn.
For example, University of Tampere provides the program of Introduction to Finnish Teacher Education for the experienced, qualified teachers (preprimary, primary, lower secondary and upper secondary school level) who wish to find new tools and methods to develop the quality of teaching in their school. The programme will give the participants a front row seat to observe the everyday work of Finnish teachers in order to provide the understanding of what kind of elements the Finnish education system is based on.
